Last December, Royal Caribbean and the German travel conglomerate, TUI, announced plans for a joint venture, in the German cruise market, shortly after a similar deal between Carnival and TUI fell through. Now Royal Caribbean and TUI have done what the German company and Carnival couldn't do: receive approval from European antitrust regulators.
