February 20th: International Cruise Lines are in progress to position yet more large cruise vessels to Europe. This in itself is probably not hot news. The interesting part is, that it's more and faster and, that European consumer markets are targeted like never before. The latter could have something to do with an extreme strong Euro versus US Dollar and consequent stagnation of spending habits in the United States.
Whatever the reason, Cruise Lines are on the lookout for European hotel staff who are trained in profession, speak languages and understand the culture of the guests. Now this is quite different from the requirements just a couple of years back, when the ships of the leading cruise lines were filled mainly with US guests.
The sudden demand of European hotel staff for cruise ships is about to take off, as the cruise holiday becomes increasingly popular at this side of the big pond. It will, however, only last if the companies are able to recruit employees who understand the various cultures, traditions and languages of the
